Dr. Lamont Tyler has worked for more than a decade building a successful career as a medical director and clinical physician. Laying the foundation for his future accomplishments, he earned a bachelor of science in biology from Loyola University of Chicago. While an undergraduate, Dr. Lamont Tyler served as a member of the Tri-Beta Biology and Alpha Epsilon Delta Premedical honor societies. He subsequently earned his doctor of osteopathy at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing a residency in family medicine at Cook County Hospital.
Since 2004, Dr. Lamont Tyler has brought this experience to his work at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois. As head of the PromptCare unit, he not only manages a staff of medical professionals, but he also offers urgent care services to patients. As such, Dr. Lamont Tyler and his team welcome walk-in patients who require non-emergency medical care for a number of injuries and ailments.
Complementing his work at OSF St. Joseph, he maintains a dedication to physician leadership and education. Throughout his career, Dr. Tyler has co-authored a number of medical publications on topics ranging from hospital admissions to prenatal exposure to ethanol.
