An alumnus of Loyola University Chicago with a BS in biology and Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine with a DO, Dr. Lamont Tyler serves as the medical director of OSF Medical Group in Bloomington, Illinois. Alongside his work in urgent care, Dr. Lamont Tyler maintains active membership with the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP).
Established in 1947, IAFP provides resources in continuing education for family physicians. Its membership of more than 4,600 family physicians provides high-quality health care to people of all ages throughout Illinois.
Moreover, IAFP works through avenues in public outreach and advocacy. In recent years, it has centered on a campaign to promote vaccinations in the state. The flu vaccine, which is strongly recommended for most patients over the age of 6 months, represents the campaign’s focus.
Both IAFP and the Chicago Department of Public Health offer flu vaccines at no cost. To find a Fast Track Immunization Clinic, Chicago-area residents can call 311.
